What is Keno at DiceCity?

Keno is a number-picking game from the DiceCity Originals. The board holds 40 numbers. You pick between 1 and 10 of them, choose a risk level, and the game draws 10 numbers. You are paid by how many of your picks were drawn, which Keno calls hits.

It is a calm game. There are no decisions once the draw starts, so the choices that matter come first: how many numbers you pick and which risk table you play. Picking more numbers opens the door to bigger payouts but needs more hits to pay. The risk table changes how the payouts are spread. The row under the board always shows what every hit count pays for your current picks, so you can see the trade-off before you bet.

DiceCity is invite only and for adults 18 and over. Use the invite link a citizen sent you, or sign in, to play on this page.

How do you play Keno?

  1. Click 1 to 10 numbers on the board, or press Auto pick for random ones. Clear table removes your picks.
  2. Choose a Risk: Classic, Low, Medium or High.
  3. Enter your stake in Bet amount. The smallest bet is worth $0.10.
  4. Check the payout row under the board for what each number of hits pays.
  5. Press Bet, or press Space, and ten numbers are drawn.
  6. Your hits are counted and paid from the table. Your picks stay on the board for the next round.

What are the odds and payouts?

With 5 picks, the chance of each hit count is fixed by the draw, and each risk table pays differently for it:

HitsChanceClassicLowMediumHigh
021.66%0×0×0×0×
141.65%0.25×0×0×0×
227.77%1.4×1.5×1.4×0×

40.96%16.5×13×14×48×
50.04%36×300×390×450×

For 5 picks those tables return 98.98% (Classic), 98.90% (Low), 98.94% (Medium) and 98.88% (High). Across every risk and pick count, Keno's tables return between 98.65% and 98.99%, and the game shows the figure for the table you picked. The largest payout is 1,000×, for hitting all 9 or all 10 picks on the Low, Medium or High table.

The return is an average over many rounds, not a promise for one. Any single bet pays at most $10,000, and in real-money play a Max bet note under the bet field shows the limit for your picks and risk.

Is Keno fair?

Yes. Each draw comes from DiceCity's provably fair seeds:

  • Server seed hash. Before you bet, you are shown the SHA-256 hash of a secret server seed. The seed is fixed from that moment.
  • Your client seed. Your half of the input. You can change it to any text up to 64 characters.
  • The nonce. The bet's number on your seed pair, counting up from 0.
  • How the draw works. HMAC-SHA256 of the server seed with your client seed and nonce gives a stream of numbers. The first ten pick the drawn balls, each one taken from the numbers still left on the board, so no number can come up twice.
  • Checking after you rotate. Rotate your seed pair to reveal the old server seed. Check that its hash matches the one you saw, then select it under Previous seeds and the Verify tab redraws any round.

Keno uses the same seed pair as Dice, Limbo and most other DiceCity Originals, so one rotation covers them together. Plinko keeps a pair of its own.

What settings can you change?

  • Picks. Click numbers on the board, use Auto pick, or Clear table.
  • Risk. Classic, Low, Medium or High.
  • Manual or Auto. One draw per press, or a series of draws with the same picks.
  • Number of bets. How many draws Auto plays; 0 runs until you stop.
  • On win and On loss. Reset the bet, or raise it by a percentage.
  • Stop on profit and Stop on loss. Auto stops when your net result reaches either amount.
  • Sound and Fairness. The speaker button, and the key button for seeds and Verify.
  • Page controls. Favourites (S), Live stats, Theatre mode (T) on wider screens and Full screen (F).

Tips for playing responsibly

  • Set a budget first. DiceCity's responsible gambling page has a budget calculator to help you size it.
  • The top payouts need every pick to hit. With 5 picks that happens about 4 times in 10,000 draws.
  • If you play Auto, add a Stop on loss.
  • Raising your bet after a miss does not make the next draw any kinder.
  • Live stats shows what you have wagered and your profit or loss this session.
  • Treat Keno as paid entertainment, and stop when it stops feeling like that.
