What is Dice at DiceCity?
Dice is one of the DiceCity Originals, the games DiceCity runs on its own game server, and the simplest game in the city. The game rolls a number from 0.00 to 100.00, and before the roll you pick a target and say whether the roll will land over it or under it.
That choice sets your odds: an easy target pays a little, a hard one pays a lot, anywhere from a 98% win chance down to 0.01%. All 10,001 possible rolls are equally likely, so the numbers on the slider are the numbers the server uses.
DiceCity is invite only and for adults 18 and over. Open the invite link a citizen sent you, or sign in if you already have an account, and the game opens on this page.
How do you play Dice?
- Type your stake in the Bet amount field. The smallest bet is worth $0.10, and the ½ and 2× buttons halve or double it.
- Choose Roll over or Roll under. The swap button next to the target switches between them.
- Set your odds: drag the slider, or type a multiplier, a target or a win chance. The other two fields follow.
- Read Profit on win to see what you would win on top of your stake.
- Press Bet, or press Space. The roll lands on the slider and joins your recent rolls.
- A roll exactly on the target loses. Over wins only above it, under only below it.
What are the odds and payouts?
Dice pays 99 divided by your win chance, rounded down to four decimals.
| Win chance | Pays | Roll over | Roll under |
|---|---|---|---|
| 98% | 1.0102× | 2.00 | 98.00 |
| 75% | 1.32× | 25.00 | 75.00 |
| 49.5% | 2× | 50.50 | 49.50 |
| 10% | 9.9× | 90.00 | 10.00 |
| 1% | 99× | 99.00 | 1.00 |
| 0.01% | 9,900× | 99.99 | 0.01 |
Your win chance is counted out of 10,000, but the roll has 10,001 possible values. That small gap is the house edge: every setting returns 98.99% over time, an edge of 1.01%. It is a long-run average, not a forecast for one session.
No single bet pays more than $10,000. In real-money play a Max bet note under the bet field shows the largest stake the cap allows for your setting.
Is Dice fair?
Yes, and you can check it yourself:
- Server seed hash. Before you bet, the game holds a secret server seed and shows you its SHA-256 hash. The hash locks the seed in, so it cannot be swapped later.
- Your client seed. Your half of the input. It starts random, and you can change it to any text up to 64 characters.
- The nonce. Each bet on a seed pair takes the next number, starting at 0. The Fairness panel shows how many bets you have made on the pair.
- The roll. The server takes HMAC-SHA256 of the server seed with your client seed and the nonce, reads the first four bytes as a number and scales it to one of the 10,001 rolls.
- Checking after you rotate. Rotate the seed pair and the old server seed is revealed, while a new pair starts at nonce 0. Hash the revealed seed and compare it with the hash you saw. Then select it under Previous seeds and the Verify tab replays any roll from that pair.
Dice uses the same seed pair as Limbo, Mines and most other DiceCity Originals, so one rotation covers them together. Plinko keeps a pair of its own.
What settings can you change?
- Manual or Auto. Manual rolls once per press; Auto runs a series of rolls.
- Number of bets. How many rolls Auto makes. 0 keeps going until you stop it.
- On win and On loss. Reset to your starting bet, or increase it by a percentage.
- Stop on profit and Stop on loss. Auto stops when your net result reaches either amount.
- Target, Multiplier and Win chance. Three linked fields, plus the over and under swap.
- Sound and Fairness. The speaker button mutes the game; the key button opens your seeds and the Verify tab.
- Page controls. Add to favourites (S), Live stats, Theatre mode (T) on wider screens and Full screen (F).
Tips for playing responsibly
- Set a budget before the first roll and treat it as the price of the entertainment. DiceCity's responsible gambling page has a budget calculator.
- If you use Auto, set Stop on loss every time. Automatic rolls move fast.
- Raising the bet after a loss does not change the odds of the next roll. It only makes a losing run cost more.
- Big multipliers are rare by design: a 1% chance misses 99 times in 100 on average.
- Live stats shows your session's profit, amount wagered, wins and losses.
- Take breaks, and stop when it stops being fun.
