What is Skyscraper at DiceCity?

Skyscraper is a climbing game from the DiceCity Originals. The building has 9 rows, and each row hides some safe tiles among its tiles. You climb from the bottom, picking one tile per row. A safe tile takes you up a row and raises your multiplier. A trap tile ends the round and the stake is lost. You can cash out after any row you clear, and clearing the top row cashes out for you.

The difficulty you choose decides how many tiles each row has and how many of them are safe. Easy rows are forgiving and pay modestly. Master rows have one safe tile in four, and the multiplier climbs very fast if you keep going. Every row is drawn separately, so a safe pick on one row tells you nothing about the next.

DiceCity is invite only and for adults 18 and over. Open the invite link a citizen sent you, or sign in, to play on this page.

How do you play Skyscraper?

  1. Choose a Difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert or Master.
  2. Enter your stake in Bet amount. The smallest bet is worth $0.10.
  3. Press Bet, or press Space. The safe tiles of all 9 rows are set at that moment.
  4. Pick a tile on the bottom row, or use Pick random tile. The panel shows what the next row would pay.
  5. Keep climbing row by row, or press Cashout (or Space) to take your stake times the current multiplier.
  6. Pick a trap and the round ends. Clear all 9 rows and the game cashes out for you.

What are the odds and payouts?

After k rows the multiplier is 0.99 × (tiles ÷ safe tiles) to the power k, rounded down.

DifficultyTiles per rowSafe tilesChance per row1 rowAll 9 rows
Easy4375%1.31×13.18×
Medium3266.67%1.48×38.05×

Expert3133.33%2.96×19,486.16×
Master4125%3.95×259,522.53×

Reaching the top is rare on the hard settings. Clearing all 9 rows happens about 7.5% of the time on Easy, but only about 0.2% on Hard and roughly 4 times in a million on Master.

Every row is priced from its exact chance, so every cash-out point returns just under 99% over time. That is a long-run average, not a prediction for one climb.

Any single bet pays at most $10,000. In real-money play a note under the bet field shows the multiplier at which wins stop for your stake.

Is Skyscraper fair?

Yes. Skyscraper is provably fair, and the safe tiles of every row are fixed before your first pick:

  • Server seed hash. Before you bet, you see the SHA-256 hash of a secret server seed. The seed, and so the whole building, is locked from then.
  • Your client seed. Your own input. Set it to any text up to 64 characters when no round is running.
  • The nonce. Each bet's number on your seed pair, starting at 0.
  • How the rows are set. HMAC-SHA256 of the server seed with your client seed and nonce gives a stream of numbers. Row by row, from the bottom, those numbers choose the safe tiles from the tiles still available.
  • Checking after you rotate. When you rotate the seed pair, the old server seed is revealed and a new pair begins at nonce 0. Rotation waits until your climb is over. Hash the revealed seed, compare it with the hash you saw, and replay any climb in the Verify tab.

Skyscraper uses the same seed pair as Mines, Chicken and most other DiceCity Originals, so one rotation covers them together. Plinko keeps a pair of its own.

What settings can you change?

  • Difficulty. Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert or Master.
  • Pick random tile. Picks a tile on the current row for you.
  • Manual or Auto. Climb by hand, or let Auto climb the tiles you picked on the building every round.
  • Number of bets. How many rounds Auto plays; 0 continues until you stop.
  • On win and On loss. Reset the bet, or raise it by a percentage.
  • Stop on profit and Stop on loss. Auto halts at either result.
  • Sound and Fairness. The speaker button, and the key button for seeds and Verify.
  • Page controls. Favourites (S), Live stats, Theatre mode (T) on wider screens and Full screen (F).

Tips for playing responsibly

  • Choose the row you will cash out at before you start climbing.
  • Set a budget for the session first. DiceCity's responsible gambling page has a budget calculator.
  • The headline multipliers on Expert and Master need long runs of luck. Most climbs end low down.
  • In Auto, always add a Stop on loss.
  • Raising the stake after a fall does not make the next building any easier.
  • Use Live stats to keep track, and take a break if you start chasing a lost round.
