What is Darts at DiceCity?
Darts is a one-throw game from the DiceCity Originals. You pick a board, bet and throw. The dart lands in one ring and pays that ring's multiplier. The closer to the bullseye, the more it pays, and the outer ring is a miss that pays nothing.
Each board's rings are sized by their chance, so what you see is a fair picture of the odds: a wide ring is likely, a thin one is rare. The three boards differ in how wide the miss ring is and how much the bullseye pays. On Low, almost every throw pays something. On High, most throws miss, and the bullseye pays 500×. The legend under the board lists every ring's multiplier and chance.
DiceCity is invite only and for adults 18 and over. Open the invite link a citizen sent you, or sign in, to play on this page.
How do you play Darts?
- Choose a Risk: Low, Medium or High.
- Read the zones on this board, listed under it with their multipliers and chances.
- Enter your stake in Bet amount. The smallest bet is worth $0.10, and ½ and 2× halve or double it.
- Press Bet, or press Space, to throw.
- The dart lands in one ring.
- You are paid your stake times that ring's multiplier. The outer ring pays nothing.
What are the odds and payouts?
Each board shares 100,000 tickets among its rings, from the outside in:
| Risk | Rings from the outside in (×) | Miss chance | Bullseye | Bullseye chance | Pays more than the stake |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Low | 0, 0.4, 1.2, 1.5, 2, 5, 25 | 2.48% | 25× | 1 in 5,000 | 57.52% |
| Medium | 0, 0.5, 1.5, 3, 6, 20, 100 | 39.42% | 100× | 8 in 10,000 | 30.58% |
| High | 0, 2, 5, 25, 100, 500 | 74.28% | 500× | 18 in 100,000 | 25.72% |
Low looks gentle, but its most common ring pays 0.4×, which is a loss of 60% of the stake. High is the opposite: three throws in four miss, yet the smallest paying ring doubles your stake.
On every board the rings multiplied by their chances add up to exactly 0.99, and the draw over every possible ticket trims a sliver more, so each board returns 98.99% over time, a house edge of just over 1%. That is a long-run average, not a promise for any set of throws.
Any single bet pays at most $10,000. In real-money play a Max bet note under the bet field shows the limit for your board.
Is Darts fair?
Yes. Every throw comes from DiceCity's provably fair seeds:
- Server seed hash. Before you throw, you see the SHA-256 hash of a secret server seed. The seed is locked from that moment.
- Your client seed. Your half of the input. Change it to any text up to 64 characters.
- The nonce. The throw's number on your seed pair, starting at 0.
- How the ring is picked. HMAC-SHA256 of the server seed with your client seed and nonce gives one number, scaled to a ticket from 0 to 99,999. The tickets are laid out ring by ring from the outside in, and your ticket falls into one ring.
- Checking after you rotate. Rotate your seed pair to reveal the old server seed and start a new pair at nonce 0. Hash the seed, compare it with the hash you saw, then pick it under Previous seeds and recheck any throw in the Verify tab.
Darts uses the same seed pair as Cases, Wheel and most other DiceCity Originals, so one rotation covers them together. Plinko keeps a pair of its own.
What settings can you change?
- Risk. Low, Medium or High.
- Bet amount. With ½ and 2×.
- Manual or Auto. One throw per press, or a series.
- Number of bets. How many throws Auto makes; 0 keeps throwing until you stop.
- On win and On loss. Reset the bet, or raise it by a percentage.
- Stop on profit and Stop on loss. Auto stops at either result.
- Sound and Fairness. The speaker button, and the key button for seeds and Verify.
- Page controls. Favourites (S), Live stats, Theatre mode (T) on wider screens and Full screen (F).
Tips for playing responsibly
- Decide on a budget before your first throw. DiceCity's responsible gambling page has a budget calculator.
- Judge a ring against your stake. On Low, the 0.4× ring is the most common result and it is a loss.
- On High, runs of misses are normal. The bullseye comes up less than twice in 10,000 throws.
- In Auto, set Stop on loss before starting.
- Raising the bet after a miss does not steady your aim. Every throw has the same odds.
- Check Live stats, and take breaks.
