What is Baccarat at DiceCity?

Baccarat at DiceCity is punto banco, played as one of the DiceCity Originals. You place chips on Player, Banker or Tie and deal. Two cards go to each hand, a third card may follow by fixed rules, and the hand whose total is closer to 9 wins.

There are no decisions once the cards come out. Your only choices are where your chips go and how much they are worth, which is why baccarat is quick to pick up. Banker wins slightly more often than Player, so Banker wins pay a 5% commission. Tie pays the most but comes up least, and it carries a much bigger house edge than the other two bets.

DiceCity is invite only and for adults 18 and over. Open the invite link a citizen sent you, or sign in, to play on this page.

How do you play Baccarat?

  1. Choose a Chip value.
  2. Tap Player, Tie or Banker to place a chip there. Right-click removes chips from a spot, Undo takes the last chip off, and Clear empties the table.
  3. Check Total bet. It is the sum of your chips.
  4. Press Deal, or press Space.
  5. The cards are counted: Aces count 1, two to nine count their face value, and tens and picture cards count 0. A hand's total is the last digit of its sum, so 7 + 8 makes 5.
  6. If either hand has 8 or 9 on two cards, both stand. Otherwise Player draws on 0 to 5, and Banker draws by the standard tableau. The higher total wins, and your chips stay on the table for the next hand.

What are the odds and payouts?

BetPaysWins per handRTP
Player1 to 144.6%98.77%
Banker0.95 to 1 (5% commission)45.8%98.93%
Tie8 to 19.5%85.88%

When the hands tie, chips on Player and Banker are returned, so those bets neither win nor lose on a tie. The figures above come from counting every possible deal and are stated rounded down, so no bet is shown returning more than it does. Banker leaves the house the smallest edge, just over 1%. Tie leaves it about 14.1%.

Like every RTP, these are averages over a very large number of hands. A short session can run well above or below them.

Any single bet pays at most $10,000. In real-money play the page shows a Max bet for the chips you have placed.

Is Baccarat fair?

Yes. Each hand is dealt from DiceCity's provably fair seeds:

  • Server seed hash. Before you deal, you see the SHA-256 hash of a secret server seed. The seed, and so the cards, cannot change after that.
  • Your client seed. Your own input, editable to any text up to 64 characters.
  • The nonce. The hand's number on your seed pair, starting at 0.
  • How the cards are made. HMAC-SHA256 of the server seed with your client seed and nonce gives six numbers. Each becomes a card from a full 52-card deck, so the game deals from what is effectively an endless shoe. The cards go to Player, Banker, Player, Banker, then any third cards in order.
  • Checking after you rotate. Rotate your seed pair to reveal the old server seed and start a new pair at nonce 0. Hash the revealed seed, compare it with the hash you saw, then pick it under Previous seeds and redeal any hand in the Verify tab.

Baccarat uses the same seed pair as Roulette, Video Poker and most other DiceCity Originals, so one rotation covers them together. Plinko keeps a pair of its own.

What settings can you change?

  • Chip value. The value of each chip you place.
  • Placing chips. Tap a spot to add, right-click to remove, Undo for the last chip, Clear for all.
  • Manual or Auto. Deal once, or let Auto replay the chips on the table.
  • Number of bets. How many hands Auto deals; 0 keeps going until you stop.
  • Stop on profit and Stop on loss. Auto stops when your net result reaches either.
  • Sound and Fairness. The speaker button, and the key button for seeds and Verify.
  • Page controls. Favourites (S), Live stats, Theatre mode (T) on wider screens and Full screen (F).

Tips for playing responsibly

  • Decide your budget before the first hand. DiceCity's responsible gambling page has a budget calculator.
  • Tie's 8 to 1 payout looks generous, but its return is far lower than Player or Banker.
  • Streaks of Banker or Player wins happen, but past hands do not affect the next one.
  • If you use Auto, set Stop on loss so the replays end on your terms.
  • Raising your chips after a lost hand does not change the odds of the next.
  • Keep an eye on Live stats, and take breaks.
