What is Chicken at DiceCity?
Chicken is a road-crossing game from the DiceCity Originals. You pick a difficulty and bet, then send the chicken across the road one lane at a time. Every lane it crosses raises your multiplier. If it steps into a lane with a car coming, the round ends and the stake is lost. You can cash out after any lane, and crossing the last lane cashes out for you.
Each lane is decided on its own, so the road has no memory: a safe lane does not make the next one safer or riskier. The difficulty sets both how dangerous each lane is and how long the road is. Easy is a long road with rare traffic. Daredevil is a shorter road where every lane is risky and the multiplier rises steeply.
DiceCity is invite only and for adults 18 and over. Open the invite link a citizen sent you, or sign in, to play on this page.
How do you play Chicken?
- Choose a Difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard or Daredevil.
- Enter your stake in Bet amount. The smallest bet is worth $0.10.
- Press Bet, or press Space. The traffic in every lane is set at that moment.
- Press Go, or Space, to cross the next lane. The panel shows what the next lane would pay.
- Press Cashout at any point after a lane to take your stake times the current multiplier.
- If a car hits, the round ends. Cross the final lane and the game cashes out for you.
What are the odds and payouts?
After k safe lanes the multiplier is 0.99 divided by the chance of crossing k lanes safely, rounded down.
| Difficulty | Deadly chance per lane | Lanes | First lane | Five lanes | Whole road | Chance to cross it all |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 1 in 25 | 24 | 1.03× | 1.21× | 2.63× | about 37.5% |
| Medium | 3 in 25 | 22 | 1.12× | 1.87× | 16.48× | about 6% |
| Hard | 5 in 25 | 20 | 1.23× | 3.02× | 85.86× | about 1.2% |
| Daredevil | 10 in 25 | 15 | 1.64× | 12.73× | 2,105.55× | about 0.05% |
Every way of playing returns just under 99% over time, wherever you choose to cash out. That figure is the long-run average across a very large number of rounds, and a few rounds can look very different.
Any single bet pays at most $10,000. In real-money play a note under the bet field shows the multiplier at which wins stop for your stake.
Is Chicken fair?
Yes. Chicken uses DiceCity's provably fair seeds, and every lane is settled before the chicken moves:
- Server seed hash. Before you bet, the game shows the SHA-256 hash of a secret server seed. That hash pins the seed, and so the traffic, in place.
- Your client seed. Your half of the input. Change it to any text up to 64 characters when no round is open.
- The nonce. Your bet's number on the seed pair, counting from 0.
- How the lanes are set. HMAC-SHA256 of the server seed with your client seed and nonce gives one number per lane. Each number is scaled to one of 25 values, and the lane is deadly when it lands on one of the difficulty's danger values.
- Checking after you rotate. Rotate the seed pair to reveal the old server seed and start a new pair at nonce 0. You can rotate once your round is over. Hash the revealed seed, compare it with what you saw, and check every lane in the Verify tab.
Chicken uses the same seed pair as Mines, Skyscraper and most other DiceCity Originals, so one rotation covers them together. Plinko keeps a pair of its own.
What settings can you change?

- Manual or Auto. Cross by hand, or let Auto cross a set number of lanes and cash out each round.
- Lanes to cross. In Auto, how far the chicken goes before cashing out.
- Number of bets. How many rounds Auto plays; 0 runs until you stop.
- On win and On loss. Reset the bet, or increase it by a percentage.
- Stop on profit and Stop on loss. Auto stops at either result.

Tips for playing responsibly
- Choose your cash-out lane before the chicken sets off.
- Set your budget first. DiceCity's responsible gambling page has a budget calculator.
- On Daredevil, the first lane alone ends the round 40% of the time.
- If you use Auto, set Stop on loss as well as the number of lanes.
- A bigger stake after a lost round does not make the next road quieter.
- Check Live stats as you go, and take a break when you need one.
