What is Plinko at DiceCity?
Plinko is a drop-the-ball game from the DiceCity Originals. A ball falls through rows of pegs. At every peg it bounces left or right with an equal chance, and the slot it lands in at the bottom sets your multiplier.
Most balls end up near the middle, because there are many paths to the centre and very few to the edges. That is why the middle slots pay little and the edge slots pay the most. You choose how many rows of pegs the board has, from 8 to 16, and a risk level that decides how the payouts are spread across the slots. More rows make the edges rarer and their payouts bigger.

How do you play Plinko?
- Choose the number of Rows, from 8 to 16.
- Choose a Risk: Low, Medium or High.
- Enter your stake in Bet amount. The smallest bet is worth $0.10, and ½ and 2× halve or double it.
- Press Bet. The ball drops, bounces down the rows and lands in a slot.
- You are paid your stake times that slot's multiplier.
- Open the paytable to see each slot's multiplier, its chance and its share of the board's return.
What are the odds and payouts?
Each slot's chance follows the number of left and right bounces it needs, so the two edge slots together come up 2 times in 2 to the power of the rows. On 8 rows that is 1 drop in 128; on 16 rows it is 1 in 32,768.
| Rows | Risk | Edge slot | Centre slot | RTP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | Low | 5.5× | 0.5× | 98.90% |
| 8 | Medium | 12× | 0.4× | 99.06% |
| 8 | High | 30× | 0.2× | 99.21% |
| 12 | Low | 11× | 0.5× | 99.01% |
| 12 | High | 180× | 0.2× | 99.05% |
| 16 | Low | 17× | 0.5× | 99.01% |
| 16 | Medium | 120× | 0.4× | 99.02% |
| 16 | High | 1,000× | 0.2× | 99.04% |
Across all 27 boards, the return to player runs from 98.86% (9 rows, Medium) to 99.35% (10 rows, High), and the paytable shows the figure for your board. These are averages over very many drops. A short session can land well above or below them.
Any single bet pays at most $10,000. In real-money play a Max bet note under the bet field shows the limit for your rows and risk.
Is Plinko fair?
Yes. Every drop is provably fair, and Plinko keeps a seed pair of its own, separate from the other DiceCity Originals:
- Server seed hash. Before you bet, the Fairness panel shows the SHA-256 hash of a secret server seed. The seed cannot change after that.
- Your client seed. Your half of the input, editable to any text up to 64 characters.
- The nonce. Your bet's number on the pair, counting from 0.
- How the path is made. HMAC-SHA256 of the server seed with your client seed and nonce gives one number per row. A number in the upper half sends the ball right, the lower half sends it left, and the slot is the count of right bounces.
- Checking after you rotate. Rotate the seed pair to reveal the old server seed and start a new pair at nonce 0. Confirm its hash matches the one you were shown, then select it under Previous seeds and replay any drop in the Verify tab.
Each bet also records which version of the payout tables it was settled with, so an old bet stays checkable if the tables ever change.
What settings can you change?

Tips for playing responsibly
- Pick a budget before you start. DiceCity's responsible gambling page has a budget calculator.
- On High risk most drops pay less than the stake. The big edge slots are very rare.
- Auto can drop a lot of balls quickly, so set Stop on loss before you start a run.
- Your RTP in the paytable shows your actual return so far. Expect it to swing a lot in the short term.
- Changing rows or risk after a loss does not make the next drop more likely to win.
- Take breaks, and stop when it stops being fun.

What is the biggest Plinko payout?
1,000× the bet, on the edge slots of the 16-row High board. Any single bet pays at most $10,000.
Why does Plinko have its own seeds?
Plinko keeps its own seed pair, so rotating it does not affect your seeds for the other Originals.
