What is Slide at DiceCity?
Slide is a shared-round game from the DiceCity Originals. Everyone plays the same round. While the countdown runs, you choose a bet and a target multiplier. Then the round's result is revealed and a reel of multipliers slides to a stop on it. If the result is at least your target, you win your bet times your target. If it is lower, the bet is lost.
Slide uses the same maths as Crash, but without the cash-out button. You make your one decision before the round, the target, and then simply watch where the reel lands. That makes it calmer than Crash and quicker to settle: every bet in the round is paid at once, the moment the result is shown.
DiceCity is invite only and for adults 18 and over. Open the invite link a citizen sent you, or sign in, to join the round on this page.
How do you play Slide?
- Enter your stake in Bet amount. The smallest bet is worth $0.10, and ½ and 2× halve or double it.
- Set a Target multiplier from 1.01× to 1,000,000×, or type a Win chance instead.
- Check Profit on win to see what the target would pay on top of your stake.
- Press Bet while the countdown runs, or press Space. A bet placed after betting closes goes into the next round, and you can cancel it until then.
- The reel slides and stops on the round's result.
- If the result reaches your target you win your stake times the target. The Players list shows how everyone else did.
What are the odds and payouts?
A target wins with a chance of 99% divided by the target, and a win pays exactly the target:
| Target | Win chance |
|---|---|
| 1.01× | 98.02% |
| 1.5× | 66% |
| 2× | 49.5% |
| 3× | 33% |
| 5× | 19.8% |
| 10× | 9.9% |
| 100× | 0.99% |
| 1,000× | 0.099% |
About one round in 50 (1.98%) stops on 1.00×, which no target wins. Every target returns 99% over time, a house edge of 1%. That is an average over a very large number of rounds, not a guide to the next one.
Any single bet pays at most $10,000. In real-money play a note under the bet field shows the multiplier at which wins stop for your stake.
Is Slide fair?
Yes. Because every player shares one result, Slide proves its rounds with a hash chain rather than personal seeds:
- The commitment. Before a chain's first round, the game publishes hash 0. It fixes every result the chain will produce.
- One hash per round. Each round uses the next hash in the chain and shows it with the result. Hashing a round's hash with SHA-256 gives the previous round's hash, so each reveal proves the ones before it back to the commitment.
- The result. It is HMAC-SHA256 of the round's hash with the chain's salt, turned into a multiplier by the same formula Crash uses.
- Checking a round. Open Fairness and verification. The Chain tab lists the commitment, the salt and recent rounds; select one to verify its result and its link to the round before. You can also select a round in Recent results.
Slide has its own chain, separate from Crash's. Your personal seed pair takes no part in a Slide result.
What settings can you change?
- Bet amount. With ½ and 2×.
- Target multiplier and Win chance. Two linked fields; set one and the other follows.
- Manual or Auto. One bet, or a bet in every round with your target.
- Number of bets. How many rounds Auto plays; 0 keeps going until you stop.
- On win and On loss. Reset the bet, or raise it by a percentage.
- Stop on profit and Stop on loss. Auto stops at either result.
- Sound and Fairness. The speaker button, and Fairness and verification for the chain.
- Page controls. Favourites (S), Live stats, Theatre mode (T) on wider screens and Full screen (F).
Tips for playing responsibly
- Pick a target that suits your budget and stick with it for the session.
- Set a spending limit before you begin. DiceCity's responsible gambling page has a budget calculator.
- High targets lose most rounds. A 10× target misses about nine rounds in ten on average.
- Rounds run back to back. In Auto, set Stop on loss so a run ends where you planned.
- Recent results do not predict the next one. Raising the stake after a miss only adds risk.
- Use Live stats to keep track, and take breaks.
